Named after the Moorish Troubadours of medieval Spain, our Room & Suite names honor the original iconoclasts of the Mediterranean.
Almeria, Sevilla, Granada, and Cordova honor the royal cities of Moorish-controlled Medieval Spain, while Sestina pays homage to the song style of these illustrious bards. Tangerinn—a beat poet expat enclave—memorializes the famous bar in Tangier where authors Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac found inspiration from these epic poets, and William Burroughs wrote his famous novel Naked Lunch in the infamous Room #9.
As you return to the hotel each night, you may notice a special offering left behind--short poems or experiences from legendary ex-pats, mysterious and inspiring quotations, or recommendations from local iconoclasts will keep each evening unpredictable.
Inspired by William Burroughs, who's original manuscript to "Naked Lunch" was scribbled on yellow pieces of paper strewn around his room. You can choose to take these nightly messages with you, or, like Burroughs, toss them wherever you like.
